Water Proofing

Waterproofing is a specialized construction process that involves applying protective systems or materials to structures to prevent the ingress of water and moisture, thereby safeguarding their integrity and longevity. It is commonly used in foundations, basements, roofs, tunnels, and water-retaining structures, where exposure to water can cause deterioration, corrosion, or mold growth. Techniques range from liquid-applied membranes and sheet barriers to cementitious coatings and integral admixtures, with the choice depending on structural demands and environmental conditions. By controlling moisture movement, waterproofing not only extends the service life of buildings and infrastructure but also enhances occupant comfort, health, and safety while reducing long-term maintenance costs.
